Learn how to package your parcel by following the ParcelDaily packaging guidelines.

Pack it right, deliver it safe.

To make sure your parcel arrives safely and without delays, proper packaging is key. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare your shipment the right way.

✅ Basic Packing Tips

corrugated cardboard
  • Choose the right box size
Your box should fit the item snugly, with just enough room for cushioning. Oversized boxes can increase shipping cost and risk item movement.
  • Use durable materials
Corrugated cardboard boxes are ideal. Avoid soft packaging like paper envelopes unless used for very light or flat items.
bubble wrap 1
  • Wrap Your Items to Prevent Damage
Recommend wrapping items with bubble wrap or foam and filling all gaps with padding to absorb shock and prevent shifting.
  • Make Sure Your Package Is Well-Sealed
Use strong packing tape to seal all seams — especially the bottom.
consigment note
  • Attach the Consignment Note
The consignment note should be placed flat on the top surface of the parcel. Include complete name, address, and contact number for both sender and recipient. A return address is vital in case of delivery issues.
  • Avoid covering the consignment note
Barcodes and text must remain scannable and visible. Don’t put tape, plastic, or decorations over the barcode.

The Don’ts of Proper Parcel Packaging

  • ❌ Don’t use plastic bags, or thin envelopes for heavy or fragile items.
  • ❌ Don’t pack sharp items without protective casing.
  • ❌ Don’t send items loosely inside a box without proper wrapping or padding.
  • ❌ Don’t include restricted items such as flammable liquids, illegal goods, or perishable food (check full list in our Prohibited Items section).

Special Packaging Needs

  • Fragile items
    • Use clear “FRAGILE” stickers. You may download the ParcelDaily’s Fragile Logo here
    • Double-boxing is recommended.
    • Avoid mixing fragile items with heavy items in the same parcel.
  • Electronic devices
    • Remove batteries and wrap the device in anti-static bags.
    • Protect screens with foam or cardboard panels.
    • Avoid placing accessories loosely inside the box.
  • Liquids, creams & gels
    • Must be sealed in leak-proof containers.
    • Wrap in waterproof materials and seal in ziplock or plastic bags.
    • Pack upright and label the box accordingly.

Weight & Size Guidelines

  • Weigh before you send
Use a digital scale to get accurate weight. We charge based on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher.
  • How to calculate volumetric weight
(Length x Width x Height in cm) / 5000 = Volumetric Weight (kg)

Bonus Tip: Take Photos

  • Snap a picture of your packed item before shipping — this helps if there’s any issue during transit or claims.
  • For high-value parcels, take photos from multiple angles (before sealing the box).
